Get out of your stuffy shack
Stuff your gear into your backpack
Whether the weather be poor or fair
Get outside and on the air
This website is dedicated to outdoors ham radio. I hope it helps to inspire people to get away from the confines of the shack and to enjoy combining ham radio with a good healthy dose of fresh air, sunshine and even rain and wind.

I think it's all too easy to fall into the trap of buying more and more equipment as a way of stoking interest in a hobby. I am sure there must be many newly licensed hams who quickly get bored, and then disappear into the ether, having spent a small fortune on setting up, and adding to, a shack. And there are, no doubt, many hams of long standing who have built up huge collections of equipment that is now surrounding them in their smoke-filled shack, while they sit there all pale skinned and, perhaps, growing a little flabby around the middle, while wondering where the fun and excitement has gone.

Well, it's never too late to get some fun into the hobby - the outdoors is free, it's better for you!

Temporary front page belonging to Peter Millis ham call M3KXZ - content currently being organised.

I would like to hear from you if you have any articles that you would like to see published on a website dedicated to outdoor ham radio and anything else to do with outdoors (adventure activities, skiing/boarding, surfing, kayaking, off road cycling/motorcycling, hiking etc). Also any articles on renewable energy sources and eco-friendly living would be most welcome.

Relevant links to websites will also be added to links pages - so please let me have them as well.
